C3 – Alternative Energy and Climate change

C3 – “Alternative Energy and Climate change” Macedonia, October 2018

Macedonia: “Alternative Energy and Climate change”: Research of teachers and students “how much we spent for self-construction of solar panels as a future project of our school”. Analyze for teachers and students to find ways to save energy in our schools and creating launched software that would calculating the savings.

Presentation of applications from the students. Contest for the most efficient and attractive solution. Cultural and social meetings. Streamlined conference and official announcement of applications.

As part of this training each participating created and implemented workshops collaboratively with their partners; one centered on engineering concepts, and the other on essential ideas outlined in the Next Generation Science. We hope that these lessons are going to be useful and engaging.

Using science technology and mathematics to investigate issues in Alternative Energy. Renewable energy can be a cost effective and environmentally friendly way to generate energy. Increasingly, individual buildings are looking at ways to generate their own power.

Installing a renewable energy source is a large-scale project. It should be carried out in conjunction with energy saving and efficiency measures around the school.

This helps to reduce climate change. By using renewable energy sources like solar energy, we also reduce our dependence on fossil fuel gas and oil reserves, which are becoming more expensive and difficult to find. It also reduces our dependence on imported fossil fuels, improving our energy security.

Schools may also consider financing panels themselves if they can, and so becoming the sole beneficiary of Feed In Tariffs.

Discussing about the innovations related to renewable energy, how renewable energy affects climate change.

Activity:

  • Make a Solar Oven
  • Make a wind Turbine
  • Make a statistic how much we spent for self-construction of solar panels as a future project of our school
  • Finding ways to save energy in our schools and creating launched software that would calculate the savings.
