LTTA – Liceul Teoretic “Tudor Arghezi” Craiova

“Tudor Arghezi” high school is situated in the city of Craiova, in the south-western part of Romania. The school is situated in the north part of Craiova, we have a total of 1124 students and 84 teachers. The age of our students ranges between 7 and 19 years old. Our school provides primary (23%),secondary (30%) and high school classes (47%), but 9% of them are students enrolled at the Maximum Security Penitentiary present a high risk of social exclusion; they are aged and have learning difficulties school there are specializations: literature, social sciences, mathematics and computer science and natural sciences.

However, many of our students come from poor rural areas. Because of current economic changes and high rate of unemployment, many parents work abroad and have their children raised by relatives and some of these students abandon or neglect school.

This project aims at offering our students the opportunity to become social active European citizens.

As a result, through this Erasmus project, we want our students to become more active and responsible, to achieve a sense of solidarity, of belonging to the same European community and sharing a common European identity. In this project our students will improve the capacity to dialogue in a multicultural context.

By learning to behave as active European citizens, students will also be the beneficiaries of a modern European education.

In this project our teachers will improve the professionalism of teaching.
